Rescued – A Dog’s Tale, is a lesson to all human beings on friendships with animals and giving love to all kinds of animals, in this instance, dogs.  As people we command a certain level of love and respect from one another. Just as we value our relationships with our friends, family and colleagues, the bond and loyalty we receive from our four-legged companions, is just as special and are also important.

This story will give its audience a glimpse into the lives of dogs living in developing countries. There are large communities of people who are not educated, nor do they have the tools, to learn about respect and socialisation between humans and dogs. In poor countries such as Guatemala, life can be difficult and poverty along with a lack of compassion for animals can make a dog’s life in Guatemala, miserable.

On the flip side, the audience will recognise how fortunate they are to have access to education, an abundance of choice and the ability to share their lives with the dogs that we classify as “man’s best friend”.

Many people welcome dogs as pets into their families, and its vital for children to learn about the responsibility that comes with caring for an animal. I believe this story is a heart-warming narration that will be appreciated by children and parents, reminding them of how venerable dogs are, how much they depend on us and how much we can learn from them and about ourselves.

This is the inspirational tale of opportunity, blended with important lessons for both children and adults that will force the heart to smile.

Rescued – A Dog’s Tale is special because it is my story of being fortunate enough to give a dog a second chance at life outside of Guatemala. It has similar lessons to those mentioned by author Peter Zheutlin in his book “Rescued”. When we least expect it, we can learn more about ourselves and appreciate life and all its challenges by giving love, showing love and accepting love.
